We would like to introduce the new company DecoNova
DecoNova is specialized in the propagation of chrysanthemum cuttings especially for natural season production. Although recently founded in 2008 the staff of DecoNova has a lot of experience in this area. We are convinced that together with you we can make your production a success. The Dutch market is an important one for our products. But we also have a strong position in neighbouring countries like: United-Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, Poland, Belgium and France.
DecoNova is a 100% daughter company of Armada. While Armada is specialized in the sales, propagation and breeding of chrysanthemums for all year round culture, DecoNova is focussed on natural season production. Though there are similarities with ayr production we think it is necessary to have all activities for the production of natural season mums in a dedicated company. The production of mother plants and cuttings has a sharp peak, cultivation takes place in a completely different environment and the growing characteristics of the suitable varieties are totally different. The disbudded chrysanthemum varieties for indoor and outdoor production are the speciality of our company but the spray and santini types are becoming more and more important. Recently we have taken over all Florelite activities in this area.

DecoNova cuttings are produced on our production site in Tanzania. The company with Dutch management meets the highest standards in quality and hygiene. There is a daily transport to the Netherlands so we have always access to fresh cuttings. Of course the imported cuttings are inspected the Plant protection Service (Dutch Plant Health Authority) and NakTuinbouw (Netherlands Inspection Service for Horticulture).

Many chrysanthemum selections for natural season flowering have been in production for several decades. This implies serious plant health risks if there is not enough attention paid to the quality of the basic material. DecoNova has been active for several years now in the selection and testing of these varieties. The selections are tested by NakTuinbouw (Netherlands Inspection Service for Horticulture) on the absence of viruses en viroids (ELISA and PCR). Also we test whether the varieties are still true to type in regular flower trials. Only in this way we can guarantee that tha plant material we use meets the highest quality standards.
Each year we reselect every variety to stop degeneration.

Although many varieties that DecoNova has in production have been propagated for many years there are still interesting developments taking place. New varieties are important for both your and our products. They offer the renewal of flower colours and flower types so desperately wanted by our customers. Apart from that new varieties can also offer a solution for e.g. resistances against pests and diseases, cold and heat tolerance, speed of production, harvest certainty, suitability for mechanization. DecoNova appreciates the relationship she has with chrysanthemum breeding companies like Fides (FGB), Dekker Chrysanten, Deliflor Chrysanten, Royal van Zanten and Armada Breeding. We have licences to produce a large number of their varieties. And therefore we have access to a very large chrysanthemum assortment.

Rooting chrysanthemum cuttings requires a lot of attention. Think about planning, crop protection, lighting, relative humidity, temperature and logistics. DecoNova is rooting cuttings for her customers in dedicated compartments on her production facility in De Lier. Our specialists have much experience in producing cuttings and young plants and therefore you can be assured that your cuttings are in safe hands.

To be able to produce excellent quality cuttings it is important to start with perfect basic stock. DecoNova is continuously renewing a collection of in vitro plant material, so that we can guarantee a perfect start next year as well.
